questions
1. I created my composition by applying my favorite type of music with some world music that I thought was interesting. I started out by searching for a classic rock feel, so chose a blues/rock piano and added a couple light guitar sounds (I forget what they were called). Then I added the bass for a couple measures. Along with this, I put in an Eastern world stringed instrument called "santoor" at the end of this section. For the next section, I decided to do something totally different by having all Indian/Asian music (and kept the santoor going). The last section goes back to a classic rock feel with the guitar and drums, and fades out to the end. To get all these instruments and sounds, I just searched for them and made sure they all lined up.
2. I didn't have very many challenges composing the piece, but had a lot of technical problems. My computer wouldn't save my piece, so for a couple of class periods, I had to re-write my piece and send them to Odeo so I could have something saved. If I would have brought my travel drive to class, I would have been better off. It also took me awhile to figure out how to import the composition to I-tunes and then to Odeo and my blog. I figured it out in the end, though.
3. If I had more time, I would make my piece longer by adding on to the sections in my piece and maybe adding something new. I would also make things better, such as balance between parts and having smoother transitions between sections. I think this would make it sound better.
4. Due to my technical problems, I didn't have any time to play around with adding some keyboard sounds or speaking parts. I would like to learn this, and how to add in more instruments, such as the violin or bassoon.
5. I would like for my classmates to give input on whatever they think would make the piece sound better, keeping in mind that creativity plays an important role. :-)
